Eyes Looking to Sing

Hope delivered – oh that is sooo the heart of Jesus for each one of us as His kids of faith!!! Jesus tells us in His Word:

“For I know the plans that I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Our Father promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us as His family and His Word also tells us that “hope does not disappoint.” (Romans 5:5) It is important, however, to put our hope in the right thing – Jesus. We cannot put our hope in anyone or anything other than Jesus!!! No matter what we face in life, Jesus will always be there for us and will bring us thru all things with a song of divine deliverance as we keep faith in Him and keep trusting in Him to see us thru our life circumstances. He will always get us thru them victoriously, however, it is sometimes in ways that is beyond all we can ask or imagine and it will always be in a way that brings us peace and joy!!! Oh I can attest that all the time God is good and that God is good all the time!!! It is important for us to understand that He is beyond us in our understanding and the only way we will find the divine life He offers to us is if we seek it!!! He promises us:

“Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and will bring you back from captivity.”

(Jeremiah 29:13)

This promise is still ours today as kingdom people!!! Our Father is always looking to bring His people out of the captivity of the enemy (the devil) and when we turn to Him and listen to His Spirit speaking to us, listen to His Word (the Holy Bible), seek Godly counsel and watch for how God is working thru circumstances, we will find our divine victory thru Jesus always!!! In all things, we are more than conquerors thru Christ who loves us and as we wait on Him, He will give us strength as He promises also:

“The eyes of the Lord roam throughout the earth to strengthen those who are fully committed to Him.”

2 Chronicles 16:9

He is our sufficiency as our Savior and as our guide. “For it is He who works in us to will and act according to His purpose.” (Philippians 2:13) Our every breath depends on Him!!! Staying in connection with Him will always bring us the divine life He tells us:

“I am the vine, you are the branches; He who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5

God Knows Tomorrow

All said, as we hangeth thou in there with Jesus, He brings us all thru life in the divine best way, therefore, we can have peace in all circumstances and hope of singing songs of deliverance as all things work out in divine timing for us!!! Oh that all just makes me smile and I can sure understand why as King David kept seeking, trusting and hoping in the Lord that he danced in the street when he experienced the Lord’s deliverance in his life!!! So shall we all, dear ones, as we keep our eyes fixed on Him as this song says here and keep hoping in Him in all of life here on earth. As we go along in this life, Father will also work thru us in powerful ways to help be heaven on earth to others, too!!! Now how awesome is that to have such wonderful purpose!!! I’m a gal with my eyes fixed on Jesus’ continual deliverance with ya’s and sooo happy to have the perfect love of Jesus who sees each one of us and desires to be our best friend and faithful Father who cares for us and desires for us to have His joyful songs of deliverance in our hearts always!!! La, la, la, la, la!!! Singing with joy!!! 🙂 Got cares???  Cast them on Jesus and He will faithfully help divinely!!! We are His and loved and accepted by Him into His royal family forever and He is committed to always bringing us victory!!! HOOORRRAAAHHH!!! Happy and smiling to be in His love and care with ya’s!!! 🙂 Keep smiling, trusting, hoping and singing, too!!!

Letting Light Shine Into Action

I read an article today and had a conversation with a neighbor who was distraught today that has moved my heart to share these thoughts with you all today in the love of Jesus with nobody in mind, but moved by the Spirit to share these things for however the Lord might work thru these stories.

Looking upward keeps from being downcast!!! Oh that is the delightful place to be in life for sure!!! King David got it when he wrote:

“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.”

Psalm 42:5

When you put your hope in God and have a mindset of bringing about His goals in life, it outshines the agenda of the world and the flesh!!! That’s a good thing!!!  As an individual and as a family, this makes a difference because our Father’s provision is based upon His will, His plan and His purpose for us and He promises to meet all our needs for those plans.  Needs are different from our wants. It is good to identify why we want. Is it for divine reasons or for the flesh or the world??? In a family, it is important to have divine “family” goals.

I know of a woman who desired to have family goals that took into consideration the whole families’ best interest and the Lord’s work, however, her husband would very rarely discuss it with her and didn’t share a plan of his own other than to just keep making money and spend as little as possible. He most often considered her ideas as insignificant and without any merit and always had reasons why they couldn’t do things that she dreamed of, like spending some extra to fix some things on their home, go and celebrate their milestone years of marriage together, inviting people over for dinner, going out on a date, doing things to help other people or putting out money to travel to see their kids. Yet he had one of the biggest men’s toy boxes that cost more than their house, always justifying purchases as investments, but not willing to invest in his relationships or God’s kingdom purposes. He wasn’t open to getting counseling to work thru their differences. Hence, it didn’t take long for the woman to realize the unfairness and selfishness of the man and his heart that cared less about her heart or the heart of others – only what he could get from her as a wife. If she didn’t provide what he wanted when he wanted, she was in trouble and he pouted and blamed her that drove her farther away.  She began to lose love and respect for him and quit caring about his desires because he cared not for her heart. This isn’t to say a human heart is always focused on what is divine, but if it is, it should be listened to.

I know of a woman who lived in her dreams of having artistic perfection in all that she did to the point that she put things and accomplishments that were worldly above her relationships and God’s kingdom purposes. It didn’t matter the family budget, she had to have the new outfit or decor for the house, the latest this or that. She spent the family into debt, causing the husband to work more and more hours to pay her overspending habit so she could stay home and raise their children. He became too tired to do the things she wanted him to do when he was home because of the hours spent trying to earn her a big enough paycheck while she stayed at home and dreamed about how to improve the looks of her house and the family appearance. Dinner was her job as a stay at home mom and it wasn’t done on time often because of her focus on her own self-interest dreaming. Finally, she went to work to have enough money to satisfy her worldly desires and with the weight of that time spent on top of all the other important things she needed to do but didn’t get done, but was trying to do – at the end of the day, she was too tired to give her husband any energy to love him – she had spent it all on things that were put before he.  Her husband felt cheated and abandoned and became frustrated in not being able to reach his wife’s ways of thinking to change her mind in any way from what her heart was set on as most important in life. This story isn’t to say that women who work are always working because of a worldly mindset, as there are lots of heavenly reasons why a woman does work. Sometimes a man stays at home and works for the team effort while a woman works outside the home. The important thing is to keep good balance between the time commitments the spouses make to each other and their family and that they have divine goals together for how they spend their money so both feel good about it and cared for. This is why it is not good to be unequally yoked, but to be yoked together with Christ as the center of our lives!!! He said “I am the way, the truth and the life.” John 14:6

Christ One Eye

Oh these are some hard stories to hear, but I share these examples here with ya’s because we have an enemy named Satan and he is always tempting people. The enemy creeps into lives in subtle ways, dear ones and it all starts when the wants of hearts become different from what Jesus wants – his wants and her wants instead of God wants. He has the best plan always and when couples are open to His heart for their divine lives together, it makes a huge difference in their relationship. I know not how our Father might speak to your hearts thru this, but I rest it with Him with ya’s!!! Oh when two people are open to Godly counsel because our Father so often works thru an outside look into circumstances to reveal the answers to bring the healing, correction and victory into marriage, divine relationships happen. Our hope is always in Jesus as this song says here. Why be downcast when there are answers for victory by looking up. WOOOHOOO!!! How is Father moving your heart to think heavenly in your relationship – what do you need to give and claim for Jesus??? It is good to ponder these things and reach for the divine in relationships because it brings the divine life and oh the divine life is the best life that just makes ya smile!!! There is a reason for the light of heaven shining into our lives on earth – it is for our divine well being and one of the biggest competitors against our Father is money and what it will buy!!! Money and stress over money is one of the biggest problems in relationships. This is something important to talk about. What are the best choices for money in your life and if married, in your marriage relationship??? Get solutions to the problems before money destroys love and families.

I Have Sent YOU

I chuckle today dear ones because sometimes we as God’s people look to God to do things that He wants us to do ourselves. I am not sure how Father will speak to you thru this message, but it is something to pray about. Sometimes we can think that it is God’s job to make something different and God is looking at us saying “YOU do this!!!” Some examples from Biblical times:

  • Jesus asked the disciples to feed the 5,000
  • Father asked Moses to go to Pharoah
  • Father asked Joshua to lead His people to a land flowing with milk and honey
  • Father asked Mary to carry baby Jesus before she was married to Joseph.
  • Father asked Martha to trust Him when He asked that the stone be rolled back from the tomb of Lazarus even though he now dead and stunk.

There are many more Biblical examples of when God asked His saints to trust Him in their going forth to carry out what was beyond them personally, but one story I want to share in more detail is the story of Gideon. This is where we find Gideon:

  • Gideon is distraught and beating out wheat in the wine press in order to save it from the Midianites (a group of idol worshippers who were always leading God’s people astray) and I love how God approaches him in such a way as to build him up in courage:

“The LORD is with you, O valiant warrior.” 

Judges 6:12

Gideon and the Lord are about to play throw the ball back and forth as Gideon then responds to God (with reverence of course):

O my Lord, if the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying “Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?” But now the LORD has abandoned us and given us into the hand of the Midian.” I really see a Father seeking to encourage His son now as Father’s Word says “the LORD looked at him and said “Go in your strength and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian. Have I not sent YOU?”

M’WAH??? That is a slang word that has several meanings, but one is “me needs a hug.” 🙂 Have you ever felt like that when our Father asks you to go and do something that is going to take our Father’s supernatural strength working thru ya??? Oh, I can relate to that!!!  I can imagine Gideon saying that “me needs a hug” to the LORD when he asks the Lord “O Lord how shall I deliver Israel? Behold, my family is the least in Manasseh, and I am the youngest in my father’s house.”  This statement speaks of a lack of self confidence in his ability to bring about such a divine feat and that mindset is healthy to the point that we must trust in our Father with us to bring about the divine. When our Father asks us to step out to do something for Him, He believes in us just as our Father believed in Gideon to carry out the call upon his life as evidenced by the Lord saying “Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat Midian as one man.” HOOORRRAAAHHH!!! RUH, RUH, RUH!!! POWER UP YYYEEESSS WE CAN WITH JESUS WORKING WITH US TO DO THE DIVINE HEAVENLY!!! 🙂 

Upon hearing the Lord, Gideon responded by worshipping the Lord with a sacrifice for having seen the angel of the Lord face to face and the Lord responded by saying “Peace to you, do not fear; you shall not die.” Gideon then built an altar of worship to the Lord and named it “The Lord is Peace.”  I can relate to that because I have experienced this – that when we receive revelation from our Father, it is clear we have seen His heart to us and there is a peace that comes over us that is a blessed reassurance that it is going to be alright and that we can do what it is He is asking us to do with Him with us!!! We just want to move “God-ward” (in the direction of God’s heart) for divine purpose and divine victory!!! OH BRING IT ALWAYS SWEET JESUS!!!

Once Gideon heard from the Lord and had the Father’s peace and realized the Lord had confidence in him to bring about the Lord’s dream thru him, he moved forward and the result was that “Midian was subdued before the sons of Israel and they did not lift up their heads anymore And the land was undisturbed for forty years in the days of Gideon.” (Judges 8:28) I love that – there was peace as Gideon had seen about our Father when he said “The Lord is Peace.”

Is there a miracle or victory that our Father is asking of YOU, dear one??? This we can always know, if Father calls us to it, we will not go alone for He will be with us and He will never leave us nor forsake us!!! As we abide in Him and He in us, we will bear much fruit!!! Oh that thought just makes me smile!!! Let us go courageous as Father asks us to as this song says here. Proud of YOU for doing so, beloved ones of faith!!! I’m a gal going courageous for Father too, trusting in Him to be our sufficiency!!! Father will not forget what ya do for Him to show Him love and help His people and continue to help them – we will get our hugs for being courageous!!! 🙂

Secure in Our Fortress

Divine sisterly love greetings to you wherever you are today, precious saints!!! Today, my heart is led to share with you all that trusting in life in our Father is what gives us the strength and the determination to keep on the move – to keep marching thru life for divine victory for our Father as this song says here!!!  

God's Full Armor

King David is one who certainly found refuge, strength, perseverance and victory in His Father who wrote:

“The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength in who I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.”

Psalm 18:2

So the Apostle Paul also found all of His sufficiency in Jesus when he wrote:

“And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.”

2 Corinthians 3:4-6

I love the term “God-ward” for it speaks volumes of our importance for going forth in life for the victory of our Father’s kingdom upon earth wherever we need to be. Our Father puts people in all kinds of places to bring light and divine action to conquer the enemy. I have heard of people being sentenced to prison before for a crime that they did not commit. Perhaps it is for such a time as this day that they be there to shine a light in the darkness!!! The story of Joseph in the Bible is one that rose to the occasion for the Lord to take care of his family, even though for some time he was separated from them for divine purposes!!! There was joy in the end and oh I just love happy endings, so let’s keep going for that, royal kingdom family!!! YYYEEESSS WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THRU CHRIST WHO GIVES US STRENGTH!!!

Where are you today, dear one??? Perhaps the same is true for you!!! Perhaps it is for such a time as this that you are the one our Father needs to be where you are to bring victory over the enemy of this world for heaven’s kingdom!!! In it all, we can know this – wherever Father has us in life – He will be our sufficiency to carry out whatever it is that He is calling us to in order to bring deliverance to others. There are sooo many people in the world hungry for Father’s love and truth and power to be delivered forever victorious – free from a religion of do’s and don’ts that must be performed for acceptance by God!!! Our Father desires for us all to know the blessing of journeying thru life in personal relationship with His Spirit interacting with each one of us individually. That is the greatest gift ever right there that we can always be secure in!!! WOOOHOOO!!! That just gets me all inspired and excited to keep on keepin’ on with ya’s – going “GOD-WARD HO!!!” 🙂 GOTTA MOVE – KEEP WALKIN’ AS SOLDIERS OF CHRIST!!! PROUD OF YOU FOR DOING SO, TOO, DEAR ONES!!! WE ARE WINNING FOR JESUS!!!

Abundantly Aloft

New day greetings, precious kingdom family!!! Father speaks to my heart today of how He desires to be our enough in all of life. That is important because only He can fully satisfy our souls and we cannot always have what our heart may desire. Sometimes that is because of our Father’s heart for us and sometimes it is because people have freewill in this life. Our Father knows what is best for us as individuals and as a child may ask their father for a gift, if the father knows that a gift is not going to be good for that child, the father is not going to grant it to the child. The same is true with our Father in heaven who gives us the very gift of life and oh sooo many things in life to be thankful for!!! Learning to count our blessings is a HUGE perspective changer!!! I agree fully with the writer of Lamentations 3:24 when he wrote:

“My soul can say “The LORD is my lot (in life). That is why I find hope in Him.”

Broken relationships. missed out on opportunities, unrealized dreams as well as other life loss can be painful and very difficult for anyone to heal from, but when we learn to find our sufficiency in Christ Jesus, we can soar on wings abundantly aloft like an eagle in the air with Him wherever we are in life!!! Oh He is the celebration in our life always and anything else we are gifted with in this life is just more of Him!!! 🙂 Jesus just makes us smile always!!! May this day find us all smiling in the truth of His love and grace as abundantly sufficient for us wherever we are in life!!! Sooo much truth in this song here!!! Always see the love of Jesus above all else in life – it makes for the win, win, win always life!!! Thankful for Jesus with ya’s!!!

The Greatest

It is an heavenly gift of today here with ya’s, precious ones!!! It is truly all a gift from the greatest there is – JESUS!!! When Jesus was ask what the greatest commandment was, He replied “Love the Lord your God with all your heart (emotions), and with all your soul (the seat of will and purpose) and with all of your mind (the faculty of knowing, understanding, or moral reflection, renewed by the Holy Spirit) (Matthew 22:37). In doing so, we worship God and bring Him glory. Nobody loves us like God. He is our biggest cheerleader – our RAH, RAH, RHEE FROM THE DIVINE THEE!!! Oh how our Father just always makes me smile and get all inspired!!! We would be nothing, have nothing or do nothing if it were not for our Father. He is worthy of praise and deserves our foremost loyalty. This is God’s greatest desire for us.   To put anything or anyone over God is to make for ourselves an idol or another god which greatly grieves the heart of God. (Exodus 20:3-4) God is zealous or passionate in desiring our love and He lovingly pursues us, but unlike man’s sinful jealousy that demands complete devotion out of resentment and ill will, God will not force us to love Him. It is our choice or free will.

There are many things a person can make god over God in their lives by giving it the control over our lives. It could be yourself that you have placed on God’s throne. It could be another person (husband, children, mother, father, a boss, or a friend). It could be the food in the refrigerator, or the chocolate in the cupboard that you keep overeating. It could be alcohol or drugs. It could be sex. It could be money. It could be your career. It could be your ministry. It could be your home or possessions. We can ask ourselves this:

What in our life are we making god over God? Whatever it is, it will let a person down. It will not love us like our perfect loving God does. Only God can successfully fill the void in a person’s heart that was designed just for Him. He has our best interest in His heart and greatly desires to be our first love in all of life.

If you have chosen the one and only true God of the Bible as your God, we can ask Him to help when needed to put away any other god in our lives.  I ask myself the same questions often as it can sneak up on us if we are not careful. YIKES!!! WATCH OUT!!! Whatever it takes, we must get rid of false gods! For example: If it is eating too much chocolate – get it out of the house! If it is doing too much catalog shopping – throw away the catalogs! If it is compulsive shopping, leave your plastic credit/debit cards at home. We can ask someone to hold us accountable, pray for us and help us with this issue. 

 If we ever find that something is in place of God, we can ask ourselves what would our life look like if God was the priority in our life? Then we can seek after that vision for the divine life!!! Oh I just love the divine life – it’s the best life that just makes us smile and have well being!!! 🙂

 When we seek to worship God above all Gods, what does that mean??? How do we worship God? Considering scripture, worship is not confined to praise; broadly, it may be regarded as the direct acknowledgement of God, of His nature, attributes, ways and claims, whether by the outgoing of the heart in praise and thanksgiving or by deed done in such acknowledgment.  It includes having a heart that is submissive to God. To me, worship of God is different from time to time. It can be telling Him how much I adore and appreciate Him, thanking Him for all He has done for me, showing Him love through obedience to His commands, or singing a love song to Him (or attempting – Ha!) If you heard me sing, you would understand. It might hurt the ears of an instructor, but I know that when I sing from my heart, it is a good sound to my God!!! OH JESUS IS A SWEET ONE!!!

Another example of worship of God could be choosing to show love to someone out of love for God.   The most important thing about worship is that it is done based on truth and that it is from our heart. Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4:23 that true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit (with feeling) and in truth (based on truths about God). Worship means nothing when it is not genuine and it would not be right to worship without truth. For example: someone could worship a rock calling it the true God. The true God is not a literal rock. The truth is, God is our creator who also created the rocks. God is often referred to in Scripture as “my Rock” which is a common poetic figure for God symbolizing His unfailing strength as a fortress refuge or as deliverer.   It is a figure very appropriate for David’s experiences in the Bible, for the Lord was His true security (Psalm 18:2). In the New Testament a rock is symbolic of a sure foundation (Matthew 7:24-27). God is certainly a sure foundation for our lives, but He is Spirit (John 4:24), not a rock that is created. The greatest desire of His heart is that we love Him with all our heart, soul and mind and strength based upon truth about Him. A second command He desires and asks of us that follows “the greatest command” in Matthew 22:39 is loving our neighbor as yourself. Divine sisterly love to you all wherever you are today!!! I am sooo thankful for Jesus our Rock that we can always turn to as this song says here. I praise Him with you!!! 🙂

Running For the Prize

Awesome new day greetings, dear ones!!! As I have been sharing the last several days, we can see that a physical athlete running a race and a spiritual athlete running their road of purpose have a lot in common in some ways!!! Another example I want to share with you today is this:

A beginning athlete just getting started in running with a goal of running a long-term physical race does not wake up the first day of learning to run and say “Today, I will run a marathon!”   When I decided I would like to be a physical runner, I soon learned this truth!!! YIKES!!! My body was weak. At first my ankles began to hurt, then my knees and then my hips. It took time to make these weak areas strong and build up the stamina to run a great distance. It takes training to be a physically-fit athlete!!! Not everyone is physically capable of running and that is ok. We need to train to become godly as spiritual athletes and that is very important for everyone!!! (1 Timothy 4:7). While some type of exercise helps us all to be at our best potential physically for serving God and others, the same is true spiritually.   The Bible says “physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for the present life and the life to come” (1 Timothy 4:8). Many people are fanatics about exercising their body everyday in an effort to stay healthy physically, but they never do anything to train to be spiritually healthy. The latter is the most important!!! As new spiritual athletes, we cannot wake up today and be a mature Christian and know everything contained in God’s Word. It takes time for the Holy Spirit to teach or train us and help us to run well the spiritual race of life. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 says that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the person of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” If we want to be equipped or get in shape spiritually, we need to work out with the Holy Spirit each day by opening up our Bible and studying God’s Word and trusting the Holy Spirit to build spiritual muscle in us. HOOORRRAAAHHH!!! RUH, RUH, RUH!!! IT MAKES FOR THE BEING EQUIPPED IN THE MIND WITH JESUS MENTALITY THAT WE ALL NEED TO HAVE DIVINE VICTORY IN LIFE!!! 

So now that we understand how to be healthy and trained spiritually, we are ready to start running the road of purpose that God has for our lives as our Father’s Spirit guides us along thru His Spirit speaking to us in line with His written Word (the Bible) that He sometimes speaks to us thru others and His guidance thru circumstances!!! TO THAT ALL I SAY YYYEEESSS!!! I’M EXCITED!!! LET’S GET GOING, SAINTS!!! IT’S GOING TO BE DIVINE FUN ADVENTURE ON THE GOOO FOR THE DIVINE TRIP THRU LIFE WITH HE WHO LOVES US FOREVER AND WHO WILL ALWAYS LEAD US IN TRIUMPHANT PROCESSION ALONG THE SCENIC VICTORY ROUTE AS WE KEEP OUR EYES FIXED ON HIM!!!

I hope you have enjoyed this series of leaning about the comparisons of a physical athlete running for a prize and a spiritual athlete running the road of purpose for the prize of Father’s eternal rewards that He holds for all His people who show Him love by helping His people and continuing to help them. We are saved by grace and not by works and therefore, we all are kingdom family thru faith and have a heavenly seat in the kingdom of heaven, this we know!!! That is awesome!!!  But our sweet Father just likes to add eternal blessings to His people for what they do out of a motive for Him and oh that just blesses my heart to know that Father delights in our heart for Him as we put forth efforts in this life to bless Him!!! I am proud of YOU for doing so, too, sweet saints!!!

Let us keep moving onward in that motive of showing love to our Father of perfect love and bringing Him glory into this earth as this song says here. I love to make Jesus smile!!! It just makes me smile, too!!!

The City on the Hill

Divine new day greetings, dear kingdom family!!! Today, as I continue in the series of how a physical athlete compares to a spiritual athlete running thru life, Father speaks to me about the importance of being level headed as individuals. That is the Spirit of He who lives in us thru faith in His finished work on the cross that has reconciled us each one into a divine relationship with He who is our God, our everything forever:

“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind.” 

2 Timothy 1:7

What is having a sound mind when it pertains to how we see ourselves in Christ Jesus???

Even though our Father places people in different places in life and some being called to be leaders for Him in this world, God’s Word tells us we are to each one think upon ourselves with sober judgment in Romans 12:3. This not only means not thinking of oneself too highly, but also not thinking of oneself too poorly.  Satan seeks to take us from one extreme to the other. He tries to make us either boastful or bashful. He tries to make us think we are “da bomb” (slang for “really hot-stuff”) or” done bombed” (totally blew it)!!! YIKES!!! LET US WATCH OUT!!! Oh let us be on guard of the devil’s tricks and stop him in his efforts, dear ones of faith!!!

People are often wrong in their opinions, their judgment and rejection towards us as individuals in this world, therefore, for each one of us, what matters is what God thinks and He says that each one of us is “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). Through our faith in Christ we are loved, accepted and forgiven just as we are. If we reject this truth about ourselves, in essence we are rejecting God’s Word!!!   Oh let us remember that God lives in us and through His strength in us, we can do all things (Philippians 4:13) and the opposite is also true – without Him, we can do nothing (John 15:4). What good we are, all that we have and all we can do is because of God’s provision and power working in us!!! Father has gifted us each one oh sooo special and yes, we each one can power on victoriously with Jesus working in and thru us!!!

When we as runners hold our heads too high in the sky thinking we are doing just fine on our own and we don’t pay attention to God’s plan for where we are putting our feet, we need to be prepared to end up face down on the road. OUCH!!! WHY??? Proverbs 11:2 says “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.”

When we think we know it all and don’t need God’s wisdom, God has to get our attention. Oh I hate it when that happens!!!

God disciplines and rebukes those He loves (Revelation 3:19). Sometimes that means scraped elbows and knees (wounds of humility) that brings with it wisdom beyond ourselves! Some times we learn thru the school of experience – the hard way because we don’t see it ahead of time. Being open to learning is vital to growing and having a “teachable” spirit is vital in the next step of “training for the marathon!” Evaluated experience teaches us what we need to know for running forward divinely – on the divine level of thinking regarding oneself!!! 🙂 Father will remind us of who we are in Him as we trust in Him!!! He in us and us in Him, we are each one part of His city on a hill that shines forth into the world the presence of He working thru our vessels of faith!!! Oh that all just makes me smile as I ponder this song here about how all of us together are our Father’s kingdom family of faith shining by His grace at work in us each that says “Here am I, LORD, send me for your great city of heaven on earth!!!” With that, “…it is God who works in us to will and act according to His purpose.” (Philippians 2:13) Oh let us exalt His name together!!! 🙂

What If???

Whether you are just stepping out on your road to “home” or you have been running it for awhile, it is important not to get caught up in the “what ifs.” Thoughts like “What if I fall?” “What if I am attacked?”, “What if it gets dark?”, “What if I can’t do it?”, “What if there are storms?”, “What if I don’t have enough resources?”, “What if_____?” We can know that God does not want us to worry, dear saints. He tells us to “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). Psalm 55:22 says to “Cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall.” All things are possible with God (Matthew 19:26).   Matthew 6:25-34 points out that God takes good care of the birds of the air. Are you not more valuable than they? So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows (Matthew10:30-31). You cannot add a single hour to your life by worrying.   Look at the fine job God has done in clothing the lilies and grass of the field:

Did you know that God knows exactly how many hairs are on your head? He knows all about you and me, too!

Rather than worrying, let us seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to us as well. Psalm 18:36 says of God “You broaden the path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn.” God will meet our needs.   God has given us His Word so that we have truth to set us free from worry and fear. Philippians 4:-6-8 says “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.” Proverbs 14:30 says that “A heart at peace gives life to the body.”

Everything Will Be oK 

It is normal to have care and concern over matters, but we need to not let them debilitate (impair our health and strength) or create mental instability causing us to go off on ungodly tangents. YIKES!!! WATCH OUT!!! THOSE TANGENTS CAN BITE US!!! OUCH!!! God desires that we trust in Him and He desires us to have peace in Him. When Jesus’ soul was concerned, He did not run wild with panic or in an ungodly craze. Oh sooo thankful for that!!! 🙂 He was a godly model for us in that He turned to His Father to receive peace, help and strength to persevere. I am very thankful He modeled that for us in His life on earth!!!

When my family was traveling on our big trip to Disney World and back home, there was a song that would play on the radio. Whenever it came on, Lydia, my daughter (then 3) would get real excited and the whole family would be singing along. The lyrics of the song were “Don’t worry, be happy!” followed by lots of “do, do, do, do, do’s.” It was such a catchy little tune that Billy, the singing bass picked up on it and it become a part of many humble abodes with a singing fish mounted on their wall! “Don’t worry, be happy!” I will add to that “and pray.” All worrying does is take away our peace and cause us health problems. When we have needs, it is a wonderful opportunity to see all the little miracles of God. God may not always answer our prayers the way we think is best, but He will always answer and it will be the best plan for our lives! After all, He created life and how amazing is that!!! Let us trust Him to help us! When I was a young Christian, I struggled when I did not feel God was answering my prayers because He wasn’t answering them the way I wanted Him to. I struggled with this until someone told me “Perhaps God is wondering if you will love Him and serve Him even if you don’t get everything your way.” This thought really helped me to see my selfishness and enabled me to let go and let God work how He sees best in my life, for He is always good and so smart beyond me. THANK YOU JESUS!!!

Let us study God’s Word about our situations that we tend to worry about, dear ones. If there is sin in our life, let us get rid of it. Let us do what we need to do to be responsible, acting upon the light from God’s Word that we have and hand the rest over to God in prayer to handle. That means for us, don’t take it back!!! 🙂 Oh that can be our temptation!!! Jesus is far more capable than we are and is there for us to ask for His help always!!! We can trust that He will work it out for our good (Romans 8:28). He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine according to His power (Ephesians 3:20). Let us not have the YIKES attitude “Why pray when we can worry? But instead have the attitude in keeping with what the Bible says “Pray and don’t worry!” Why wrestle when we can nestle in the loving care of the Father!!! Oh I like that idea!!! It just makes me smile!!! 🙂

 Some thoughts to ponder:

  • Our relationship with God? 
  • How we view ourselves?  
  • How we relate to other people?

Unforgiveness

Good day greetings, precious family!!! As I wrote yesterday about one of the areas of life where bad attitudes can develop, I am writing again today about a second issue that can contribute to poor attitudes in life. It is the topic of forgiveness.

Hebrews 12:15 says “See to it that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.” “Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice” (Ephesians 4:31). A person’s uncontrolled anger does not produce the righteous life God desires for us. Instead, He says to “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32).

It is God’s desire that we not repay evil for evil, to be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, “as far as it depends on us, He says, live at peace with everyone.” Leave it to God to avenge or repay. (Romans 12:17-19) He tells us “If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat; if he is thirsty, give him water to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head and the Lord will reward you” (Proverbs 25:21-22). “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:21) Satan loves to see us in a state of being overcome by evil. Let us not go there, dear ones!!! YIKES!!! LET US WATCH OUT!!!

Often people tend to think that those who let us down are unworthy of love and that they should be punished. When others hurt us and anger us, it is important to get a grip on our emotions. We can talk with a friend or counselor and use wisdom to communicate appropriately.  Many people have never learned how to deal with anger in the right way.  Whether believers in Christ or unbelievers, God desires us to deal lovingly with other people. Matthew 22:39 says “Love your neighbor as yourself.” So often, we make ourselves out to be God’s agents of condemnation instead of His agents of love. Our condemnation of those who fail may come out as verbal abuse, physical abuse, nagging, criticism, withholding appreciation and affection, or ignoring them. Each situation and each person often requires a different form of communication. There are times when we need to overlook an insult or offense and there are times when it is appropriate that we lovingly confront someone.   It is helpful to ask “What is the divine best for the other person.” A visiting Pastor at my church once said that when dealing with others there are three things that we should keep in mind and we should always keep them in order: “think, act and feel”. When we think first, then act, then we will feel good about the outcome, but if we feel first, then act, then we will think “I wish I hadn’t done that.”  Or, we might act first, feel bad about it and lastly think why did I do that!

Colossians 3:13 says “Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.”   Colossians 2:13-14 tells us how God dealt with our sins: “When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us, He took it away, nailing it to the cross.” Matthew 6:14-15 says that “If you forgive others when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Unforgiveness affects us! It robs us of peace and joy, it can affect our health, and it breaks our relationship with God and others. Forgiveness is so important to God that He says it should be extended towards others before we offer any gifts to God at the alter (Matthew 5:23). Forgiveness is the greater gift to God!

For illustration purposes, I share this story in hopes it may bear fruit to help from my experience. Several years ago, before I knew Jesus, I was working with a woman who complained a lot about other people. It was so much that it really bothered me. One day I went to have a cup of coffee with another employee and out of frustration, I mentioned that it really bothered me that this gal was so negative about other people. I didn’t realize that this employee whom I thought I was confiding in as a friend would walk right back to the office and tell the gal I had complained about what I had said about her. Obviously, she was very mad at me and I can see why – here was I doing the same thing I was accusing her of doing!!! YIKES!!! I apologized several times and ask her to forgive me, but she stayed very mad at me and would not even speak to me for days. Every morning before I went to work, I would fret and worry so much about it that I gave myself a stress headache before I left the house. Finally one day I told myself “You have apologized. You have done your part. It is now up to her to forgive. If she cannot do that, it is not your problem to worry about.” I went to work as normal and began to speak and act towards her as if nothing had happened. I didn’t know about God’s grace at the time, but this is what it looks like when we accept God’s grace or love upon us as sufficient! She eventually forgave me and we had a workable relationship after that. I am very thankful for that. This does not always happen and when someone cannot forgive us when we have sincerely apologized, we need to love them and pray for them, releasing them to God and asking Him to put love and forgiveness in their heart for us. None of us are perfect and not always, but often times, it can be that the very thing we hold against others, we are guilty of ourselves. Romans 2:1 says “You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.” I have found this so true in my own life. When I am being critical or unforgiving of someone else, I can see how quite often the very thing I am accusing them of, I have done at some point in my life. Then I think, well I would want God to forgive me for this, so it is only fair that I forgive this person that has offended me. What someone does towards us really can’t compare to all we have personally done towards God and God sets the perfect example to us – He has completely forgiven us thru our faith in His perfect performance on the cross for our sins!

When forgiveness is an issue, we can pray and ask God to help us to forgive and pray for the other person involved as well.

 A very good friend of mine clearly understood this concept when she was having a difficult time forgiving her stepfather for sexually abusing her and her sister when they were young. She had told her mother about the abuse, but because her mother feared she would be unable to support her girls without her husband, she told the girls they would have to put up with it. Her mother and this man divorced at a later time. My friend knew God would want her to forgive, but for many years, she could not forgive. One day, when she was getting ready for the day and talking to herself in her mind as we all do, she began to think about a personal sin she had (other than not forgiving) that she could not stop doing.  It was a stronghold that she had not yet been able to overcome. Each day she would pray that she would not commit that sin and at the end of the day, she would realize that she had indeed sinned again. As she thought about this, the thought came to her “What if my stepfather did the same thing?”, “What if each day he started off saying “God, please don’t let me abuse those girls again today!?” Suddenly, she viewed this man in a new way. She could identify with this man’s daily struggle with sin against God and through this insight, she gained compassion for him and was able to forgive him. She spent a lot of her time each week visiting her mother at an assistant living center until her mother passed away and I am glad to say, my friend has overcome not being able to forgive and conquer thru His power at work in her the stronghold of the other personal sin that she was struggling with for so long as well.

I ask myself as I ask you: Are you withholding forgiveness and love towards someone presently or in the past? What do they need to do in order to be forgiven by you?____________________________________________________________________

Do they still owe you something? _________ They may never give it to you and if you stated there is something that they need to do, you have not “canceled their debt” as God has canceled ours. Forgiveness holds no grudges or expectations towards another person. Holding on to unforgiveness hurts us!

What area of resentment, anger or bitterness in your heart needs to be resolved? ____________________________________________________________________

If you are unsure of how to resolve a problem, will you seek God’s wisdom through prayer, His Word and godly counsel from other Christians?

Whose best interest are you neglecting to seek by being passive in lovingly confronting a problem that needs to be resolved? _____________________________________________________________________

Will we ask God to help us to handle the problem successfully and in a manner that brings Him glory?

Are we the source of someone else’s anger, bitterness and resentment and we are procrastinating making a sincere apology? If we are still sinning towards them, let us ask God to help us to stop. Let us ask God to give us the desire, the courage and the opportunity to pursue peace.
